Sadly, we won SLIVER, even though we wanted a gold we are still happy that we are able to get sliver among so many schools,is a good experience for everybody part of it..The next batch would be the Sec 1,2,3,hope we will be able to get a Gold next time k,Keep it up!!:)

SYF finally OVER!!

We are always NO 1

SYF IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!Everyone can now relax and await for the results in two weeks time,that seems so so so so so long!!!!Hope we will be able to get a gold,or even a gold with honors,everyone including the principal and vice-principal would be so happy!!We will be performing again on the 7th of April for the school,and even a presentation about the sydney trip,so catch it k!!take cares...

The Sound of Music!!
We are always NO 1

Bedok North Secondary School presented Rodgers & Hammerstein's 'The Sound of Music' at Victoria Theatre on 26 March last year. The story follows as a good-natured, flightly notivate, Maria who is hired to care for the seven children of a militaristic, icy, widowed Austrain Captain Von Trapp. She ultimately wins the hearts of the children-and the captain, but their lives are threatened by the encroachment of Nazis. This joyous and uplifting musical was a collaborative effort of the various performing arts groups from the school. This sold-out performance was preceded by a year of detailed planning, regular practices and intense rehersals. Teachers involved, cast and crew put in tremendous effort and the result was a polished performance that met with positive reviews from the audiences.

The Biggest Movie Event of the Year-The Oscars was held at the Kodak Theatre on Feburary 22nd 2009.Hosted by Hugh Jackman,it is the one night when the whole Hollywood comes together to honour and celebrate its greatest talent.
The red carpet,before the main show was graced by A-list celebrities such as Brad Pitt,Angelina Jolie,Kate Winslet,Meryl Steep,Anne Hathaway and Sean Penn.
The main show saw 'Slumdog Millionarie' starring Dev Patel & Freida Pinto winning 8 out of the 10 nominations the movie recieved.Slumdog Millionaire won oscars in the categories of best picture,directing,music and cinematography and others.The movie beat the other favourites like ''The Curious case of Benjamin Button' and 'Milk' starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn respectively to win best picture.Danny Boyle took home the Best Director award while AR Rahman clinched the award for best song for''Jai Ho''.The Oscars for actor and actress in a leading role were won by veterans though.Best actor went to Sean Penn for his performace as a gay politician in ''Milk'' and best actress went to Kate Winselt for her performance in ''The Reader''. Best actor and actress in a supporting role went to Health Ledger for ''The Dark Knight'' and Penelope Cruz for ''Vicky Cristina Barcelona'', Overall. 'Slumdog Millionaire' came out top on oscar night 2009;winning the most number of awards.

Introduction on the SYF!!!
We are always NO 1
The challenge and target for us for SYF this year is set by our principal and teachers.It is to achieve another GOLD since we had achieved it two years before.Our theme for this year is 'Sucess in a non-kiasu way',selected by our producer/instructor Mr A.Elyas.Eighteen students were chosen in total for this year's SYF group,to prove that they are capable of performing in the Syf.After much practices,Mr Elyas made a decision that the seven students who will be representing the school in the SYF would be Nyimas,Pat John,Andrea,Shaikh Ahmad,Shahira,Farisha and lastly Liyana..!!Wish them all the best!!:)
